About Us

From the Beginning

I have been a Texas Registered Trainer since June 2018. I have a Bachelor’s in Sociology.  I am a Family Specialist II since 2009 with Infant Mental Health First Three Years.  I am a Community Health Worker since 2017 with Texas Health and Human Services.  I taught adult professionals for 15 years in a position I held with Education Service Center, Region 2 (ESC2) from January 2003-August 2018.  The ESC2 held a contract with Texas Workforce Commission to train early childhood professional and administrators.  I have trained in many topics that include growth and development, diversity, classroom management, working with families, Infant Toddler Guidelines, Pre-K Guidelines, Ages and Stages, social emotional development, special needs, health and safety, brain development, marketing, responsive caregiving and interactions.  I also had the opportunity to teach both Infant/Toddler and Preschool Child Development Associate.  During my time with the ESC2, I worked with both family homes and childcare programs on the Texas Rising Star Credential offering both technical assistance and completing the assessments.  I also provide technical assistance for children with special needs in the early childhood environment.  During my 5 years out of 15 years, I was coordinator of the Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool program (HIPPY).  This program help families prepare their children for Kindergarten.

I have directly served infants, toddlers and families while working with the Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECI) for 10 years in Nueces County.  I worked closely with families in helping them understand the development of their young child, and to empower them to be the best advocate for their child by seeking education and community resources.  I have had the experience of working with several developmental screening and assessments such as Ages and Stages, both developmental and social emotional milestones, Denver II, Hawaii Early Learning Profile, Bracken School Readiness, and GARS-3-Autism Rating Scale.

I am currently working as a Transition Coordinator with Superior Health Plan STAR KIDS Medicaid program and providing transition services for people with special health care needs as they transition into adult-life.

I am also a proud Mom of four children, and even prouder Grandmother of two grandchildren-2 years old and 8 months old.   I work hard setting up information for others to learn, but I feel it is in the reflection and discussion with one another that we truly learn.
